The
Potential
of Solar

As our region faces GROWING ENERGY DEMANDS, we must look at all resources. The sun provides an abundant source of energy. It’s as simple as catching the sun’s rays, with a little help from technology.

Solar is the Cheapest Way to Produce New Electricity

Solar is cost-effective because the cost of the fuel source (the sun) is free. As the price of solar panels has gone down, the cost of solar electricity has significantly decreased. In fact, solar energy is currently the lowest-cost way to produce electricity

Partnering with Local Landowners on Their Private Property

The project is located on private land with the full support of local landowners. Over the life of the project, the landowners receive substantial lease payments while the local community receives decades of tax revenue for road repairs, local infrastructure improvements and public schools.

Building Upon Gibson County’s Energy Legacy

For generations, Gibson County has had a significant history in the coal mining industry. Today, we are honored to maintain the community’s energy leadership and reinvest in the community by developing our Buckskin Solar Project on reclaimed mining land.

This provides us the opportunity to give a second life to non-prime ag land that is no longer productive all while adding an additional source to help support Indiana’s energy needs.
